Jeff Davis is an artist, Strategic Advisor at Art Blocks, and co-founder of the Generative Art Foundation. He began his artistic journey in college, focusing on painting and printmaking during his graduate studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 1999, Jeff turned to design software to explore structure and color with greater precision, marking the beginning of his digital art practice. Since then, he has adopted creative coding as a tool for expression, developing generative systems that investigate form and color within specified parameters.
His recent retrospective Color: 1995–2025 at Artverse Gallery in Paris presented thirty years of work, tracing his evolution from traditional printmaking to generative art. Jeff has also exhibited internationally with Bright Moments gallery in Paris, Buenos Aires, Tokyo, Mexico City, London, Berlin, New York, and Los Angeles. His work has been included in Digital Art Day Sale, Contemporary Discoveries, Grails: Part II, and Natively Digital at Sotheby's in New York, Ex-Machina at Phillips in London, the European Cultural Center in Venice, and Art Dubai. He has completed collaborations with Studio DRIFT and Ateliers Loire and authored two textbooks, Foundations of Design and Foundations of Color.
